USA TODAY:
Hayward and Cable, Wis.
The duo cities of Hayward and Cable have become the epicenter of biking in the Midwest. The Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association has developed a trail system with something for everyone. The area is also home to the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival (three days of bicycling adventure), including the country’s largest mass start point-to-point race. For rentals, a good place to start is either Riverbrook Bike & Ski or New Moon Ski & Bike.
