The Chequamegon National Forest

The Chequamegon National Forest

If you look at the back of your left hand and imagine it as the state of Wisconsin, Delta Lodge is located in the upper portion of the ring finger. Delta Lodge is centrally located between two tourist towns, Hayward and Bayfield, Wisconsin (45 minutes from each), and one hour east of Duluth, Minnesota. Paul Bunyan is said to have walked 40 miles north, to the shore of Lake Superior, and pitched a rock into Canada.

Delta Lodge is truly in the heart of the forest, on two lakes. The nearest towns, Iron River to the north or Drummond to the south, are 12 miles away – an easy drive through the Chequamegon National Forest. If you are arriving from the south, you will drive up Forest Highway 35, otherwise known as the Delta Drummond Road, one of the few unpopulated paved roads through a national forest in the United States.
